Fall in New England

Autumn in New England is a season of transformation, when the landscape explodes in color and the air turns crisp and cool.

We drive through Vermont in late October, when the foliage is at its peak. The trees are ablaze with color: reds, oranges, yellows, and golds. Every turn in the road reveals a new vista, and we stop constantly to take photos.

The small towns we pass through are picture-perfect, with white clapboard churches, covered bridges, and general stores that have been in business for a hundred years. We stop in one town for lunch, eating apple pie and drinking cider at a café with a view of the mountains.

In the afternoons, we hike through the forests, crunching through fallen leaves and breathing in the scent of pine and earth. The trails are quiet, and we often have them to ourselves. It is a peaceful, meditative experience.

By evening, the temperature drops, and we light a fire at our cabin. The nights are cold but clear, and the stars are brilliant. Autumn in New England is a season of beauty and reflection, a time to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasures of life.
